I told you! Look how big these kids are! They can all play together, and some days, they play for hours! All four of them!...Of course this isn't the norm.
Our school district is one of the few that gives us the first week of January off. So, it's a great time to play! We started using our Christmas gift of the "Get Out Pass."
We went to "Provo Beach" with a fun ropes course. Lincoln rocked it, and spent over an hour up balancing. Oliver, took some time getting used to it, but after some time, got the hang of it also.
It's been fun playing with my big kids!
We also got a ski pass for Christmas. Our goal is to head up to Alta every Friday and ski from 3:00 to 4:30. January was great! We made it up there every week. We gave my mom a pass as well so she skis with Lincoln and Oliver while I do my best to teach Thomas to get down the mountain on his skis. January is always a great time to get out of the inversion, and it was wonderful getting some fresh air at least once a week.
Ezra is getting independent. Though he won't walk, he plays by himself and babbles while he pushes cars, tears magnets off the fridge, and throws his hands up in the air.
We used another pass from Christmas to get into the Children's museum, and loved every minute!
This would be an impossible procedure without my mom!
We also went to the Leonardo and the kids LOVED it. They spent hours exploring and playing.
We got to go to a Jazz game for Jerry Gurr's birthday. It was fun to have an excuse for a date!
A friend stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and we were in the middle of an UNO game. She offered to snap a picture of our awesome family doing awesome things. It was a fun reminder that it's fun to have big kids!
Oliver is quite the kid! He is a peacemaker and does his best to help others. He thinks of others before himself. He knows how to focus really well. However, he generally focuses on what he wants to do. He gets focused on a book, or a car, or a game or a picture and it is almost impossible to get him to focus on what I want him to do. Like doing homework, or cleaning up after himself, or clearing his plate. In January, I felt myself nagging this kid way too much and had my energy focused on another kid. I took Oliver on a little one on one to some ice cream. This kid chose ice cream he thought his brothers would like so he could share it when we got home. I love this kid!
Thomas is in a great Joy School. This group of kids get along so well, and all participate in the class. It's a great situation!
I talked my mom into taking a turn with Thomas. They found a new way to get down the hill.
I got a couple hours of keeping up with these two!
We used our pass to go bowling, and Lincoln won this time.
But all of the boys are good at having fun when Lincoln wins.
We have had a great indoor soccer season. Thomas and Oliver have been coached by Dean and they both hold their own. Thomas keeps up and gets in the scrum without any reservation, and Oliver proudly dominates on his team. He's a bit of a ball hog, but it might be good for him.
Lincoln is also one of the best at hustling on his team. He's improved so much, and he makes friends on his team. This season, the whole team was fun to coach.
