This baby thinks he's a big kid now. And sometimes he's right. One night, he grabbed his binki and blanket and made himself right at home on Lincoln's bed.
This really happened. These boys brought home so much candy. It was equivalent to my 12 year old brother who would leave at 6 and come home at 8:30, and run the whole time. Oh yea, they did leave at 6 and came home after 8:30. Dean was with them the whole time. When you're a kid, it's good to have an awesome dad.
Our good friends the Ford's had us over to watch Utah football games. It was a beautiful fall day, and all the boys went out to play their own turkey bowl at half-time.
All of my kids have had this weird skin virus. They say once the body has figured out how to get rid of it, it won't come back. But it takes about a year to figure it out. So I'll keep my fingers crossed. I know there are far worse things, but somethings you just have to document to be grateful when it's gone.
Somehow, Thomas has it in his head, that half birthdays are equally important as yearly birthdays. He was counting down to being 4 and a half for over a month. With all of the buildup, I thought we should at least make a cake...of his choosing.
We went to the free zoo day. You know the day where the sun is out and everyone goes to the zoo to see all the people. We played at the playground for a while, and all of the mothers were getting nervous about the kid climbing on top of the slide. My apologies to those moms.
We did squeeze our way in and see the other animals too.
Then I asked our good friend Gail to take us back on her zoo pass the following day with all of my boys. Sometimes the school boys need to have some fun too.
Thanks for the fun Gail! She even got us passes to the train and the merry go round!
Both Lincoln and Oliver entered the Reflections contest this year. This is Oliver's entry. The theme was "look within." So he made a simple lego car and put it in a simple garage, and told the judges to look within...He did get a certificate for participating! Which is great since he put in about 45 seconds of work.
Lincoln on the other hand decided to make a video. This was a lot of work for both of us, mostly because I had to learn how to use the video software and then teach him. I tried 3 "free versions" first, then learned that they were only free if you don't want to save your work. So I finally gave in and purchased some $10 software, and Lincoln spent hours making a very good first attempt at movie making video. He advanced to district which was helped by only having three entrants in the film category.
No, this kid did not get beat up. But he did have fun playing in his dad's muffler.
Ezra also has fun at grandma's house. He loves playing skeeball! And he's getting pretty good too.
We needed a place to land while Dean worked on the attic one Saturday. So my mom found all kinds of fun. Including light bulb maracas.
And what's a sunny Saturday in the Fall without some pickleball?
I took the boys to the Children's museum in Ogden. And we had a great time. It brought back so many memories to my days living in Ogden when Lincoln and Oliver were this age, and this was our stompin ground.#Flashback. Here's my life with 2 other boys
And for another trip down memory lane, we stopped by the air force museum on our way home.
Julie is awesome. She is a planner and continually thinks of how to celebrate others. This was Emily's birthday party, at Julie's house.
Now that school is in. We have playgroups for Thomas on Tuesday mornings. So that leaves me with just one kid for a few hours. We've been hiking every week it's nice with our babies en tow.
The loft is so close to being finished! The boys are always anxious to help. However, their help, is usually not helpful. I spent several days painting during nap time/school time. This day I didn't quite finish before they got home...so they willingly helped.
One of my best Salt Lake friends moved across the country. She had 3 kids all within a few months of 3 of my kids. We had a goodbye party for them.
It's only been a few months, but I miss them all!
Balloon games and grass games. Ellen and her kids make everything fun!
We took our turn cleaning the church. Oliver and Thomas were busy on the outside, and Ezra was an excellent observer.
The swing hike in Centerville is my kid's favorite! It's a good One mile up hike with an awesome reward!
We even got my niece Khari to the top! She's come so far.
We had fakesging a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving with the Polls. This jello gets my boys so excited. Oliver likes to dissect it.
Cub scouts. Not sure how to expound on this. Lincoln got to be in the scouting program through the troop for seven months. He loved it so much! Earning awards and getting recognized in front of a crowd is right up his alley. Not to mention that the scout master makes the ward RS parties look shameful with the amount of effort, and decorations he puts into the Pack Meetings. Talk about going above and beyond. He helped Lincoln feel so important. Let's just say there were numerous tears shed at the scout troop dissolving at the end of the year.
Plus little brothers get to participate in the activities as well.
Oliver and Thomas played Jr. Jazz, so we got tickets to the Jazz game. I took these three boys, and it was a lot of fun! They are at such a fun age
To say they were excited to get to the arena is an understatement!
The seats where not great. But we didn't sit in them long so that was irrelevant.

Downtown days are always fun! We even had a friend along this time!
Happy Thanksgiving! I knew Ellen and her family didn't have family to be with, and we were going to John and Katie's for dinner, so we had them over for a Thanksgiving Brunch instead.
The kids got creative with gum drops and toothpicks.
Then we did have a delicious dinner with the Graham's and Hadfields. Alex Hadfield played this game with Thomas for over an hour...Super cute!
With Thanksgiving behind us, it's time to set up Christmas. We got a new tree this year!...I actually got it for $4. on Clearance last January, and the fun part is...it worked!
Here's Ellen, and Conor, and Emily, They stopped by on their way out of town to say goodbye to the boys, but they were at a Utah game...I really do miss them!
