June 2023

Salt Lake School district had school until June 9th this year, so more field trips that I got to attend:-) 

This was Oliver and all of the boys in his 4th grade class at This is the Place.

And then more games at lunch time with all the 4th graders!

1st day of June = New calendar. The boys are getting pretty good at jumping in and making the calendar after I draw the lines.

Lincoln needed a root canal on his front tooth. This was his second one, so he decided to bring his soft blankets to comfort him while he got the shot. He was better prepared this time.

And handled it like a champ!

Ezra's last day of school included a program in the chapel, and then cupcakes

And smiles with his good friends!

More and more Lagoon. These boys don't flinch at anything!

Marissa brought her kids into town and we had all kinds of fun. We hiked donut falls and there was a bunch of snow still! But made it to see the falls!

Ezra was a great hiker! And even stopped to pose along the way.

Marissa packed a bubble machine for all kinds of fun!

We went up to Layton to play with our "Crag Mama's" friend and played a serious game of kickball!

Ezra can ride so many rides at Lagoon, but when the big boys ride the Samarii, we ride the Skyscraper

Ezra snuck onto this ride, sometimes they aren't looking. He can't poke his head out because the chair is too big!

Lincoln's last day of 6th grade. They sang some songs,

And then we went to the stake Center for a Primary Popsicle party.

I went biking in Richfield with some girlfriends. This is Terry, she ended in this tree upside down.

We did five or six different downhill trails and got a shuttle to the top.

I walk home from church almost every week with our neighbors Astrid and Phillip. Thomas walked with me too on this week.

We hiked the living room with the Blackhursts. It was a hot day, but things are always fun with these friends.

Ezra can't do the Samarai, so we went on the skyscraper and looked down on the brothers.

Ezra is chillin in Uncle John's pool. I found a swim teacher for these boys to be sure they'd be ready for summer. Well, they were pretty ready, and then we didn't ever go swimming...Not once.

This Summer was full of mountain biking with Lincoln's Mountain Biking Team. We went every Monday and Wednesday evening we were in town.

We went to the Saratoga Springs Open House. It was fun to take the boys inside the temple!

These guys are my life and have my heart! I am the luckiest mama!

Not sure why...but Lincoln wanted to eat his corn in the messiest way possible.

Happy Birthday Natalie! We went to Jordanelle with Anna and all of our families to celebrate.

The party was on the beach, and in the water!

After a doctor's appointment, the boys insisted on a picture by the U.

We met the Krannings at Lagoon. Lincoln really wanted to get into the little cars. He had a great time with Britain with his knees under his armpits.

We went up Millcreek Canyon for Judy's birthday. Dean made an amazing Dutch oven breakfast and the boys played in hammocks while it cooked.

John and Katie met up with us, and we went for a small hike.

Katie was following the boys up this tree. Thomas hit a stick on another tree and Katie thought the tree was cracking under her weight. It was pretty funny to watch how fast she got off that tree.

These kids are pretty good hikers. And enjoy stopping for pics.

The first big trip of the summer

THE BLACK HILLS

I took the boys and Jodi brought her girls to the Black Hills. It was a super long road trip, but simply amazing! This was one of our first stops in the the back side of Mt. Rushmore.

We stopped at Devil's Tower along the way, and climbed and climbed and climbed. They kids played tag for an hour before they even noticed the giant limestone tower.

Then they noticed it. We played on these rocks for a few hours.

Until Thomas hurt his knee. 

Then we drove a few more hours and made it to Mt. Rushmore! It was far more difficult to get all four boys in a picture with the faces than it should have been. But here's 3 of the 4.

The kids put on quite a show down in the amphitheater. They loved playing and dancing on the stage!

Some windy roads took us to this beautiful overlook of the Black Hills.

Up close to those amazing hills, there were so many fun places to play and climb.

We went into Jewel Cave and Wind Cave. It was quite an amazing adventure!

The hammocks always offer fun, and a lot of arguing, but when Aunt Jod is there, it's just fun.

We missed "Double Pie Day" as a ward activity while we were gone, so we went to a pie place and all got ice cream.

We did a little shopping in Custer and found a fun toy.

After days of searching for buffalo, we finally found some!

After days of adventuring, we finally took a day at our campground and enjoyed the lake.

Thomas and Vanessa are the only ones brave enough to swim in this cold water.

On the way home, we stopped at Henry's fork and pulled some handcarts in the brisk wind!

And I left Jodi in charge of taking pictures during this trip, so dozens more I'm trying to get my hands on. Overall, an amazing trip! Super fun adventure for our families!
