We made a quick trip to New York City- thanks to Kyle and Emily accommodating us. We had 2 days of airports and 2 days of touring the city. It turned out to be about right. Besides a few quick melt downs on the plane, Lincoln did pretty well. Here's our trip in a quick nutshell.
| We brought the stroller, I guess so Lincoln could push it. |
| The moving walkway also kept Lincoln quite entertained for our 4 hour layover. |
| We made it to New York at almost midnight. Then we got to wait in line for a cab. |
| First thing on day one was Central Park |
| Lincoln liked to see the park, but he really liked to be free and roam. |
| It didn't rain on us, but it did mist most of our first day there. |
| We saw a cool cathedral in Harlem. |
| Columbia University, it was an early campus tour for Lincoln. |
| We did a lot of walking. Lincoln tried to stay comfortable on his dad's back. |
| The world trade center monument, with tour guides Emily and Hudson |
| Then we walked down to the statue of liberty. It was too foggy to actually see, but we made it to the pier. |
| Then on the subway for more adventures. Lincoln enjoyed watching the trains and all of the people. |
| FAO Schwartz was a highlight for Lincoln he could have spent days with the stuffed animals. |
| He played with these snakes for at least 20 minutes before I carried him away. |
| The famous Christmas Tree really was big! |
| The next day uncle Kyle got us prime tickets to the top of the empire state building. The lady working there was impressed at how brave Lincoln was to bang on the glass...then she asked me to take him away from the glass:-) |
| Macey's Santa Land was pretty impressive. Even though Lincoln was overdue for a nap, there was plenty to entertain him before we saw Santa. |
| We made it to Santa, and Lincoln didn't mind as long as I was close by. |
After our nap we saw the Rockette's. It was a good show and even entertained Lincoln for the first hour. Luckily it was only a 90 minute show.
| Then to Grand Central Station for a cool train display. |
| While we waited to meet up with Kyle and Hudson, Lincoln enjoyed playing on the stairs. Because there were so many people going every which way, he got a lot of smiles, as he was the only kid in the place, and he is a good entertainer. |
| We made it to the shake shack, and times square too. |
| Then Bryant Park had a cool tree, and some fun shops. |
| Our last stop was Columbus Circle. It was late, but Lincoln had plenty of smiles as he walked along the bench. |
We made it home Wednesday afternoon and we were all ready for a nap. Lincoln was lucky enough to get a nap, but we had a great trip and saw so many things in just 48 hours!!!
