More summer fun! How is it over already?
Our friend Holly took us to the Front for some climbing. Lincoln is becoming quite the climber and has mastered any fear of heights and is a pro at coming down too (which is the hardest part for the littles)
After climbing we took Holly and her kids for some downtown adventures. The fountains at City Creek are always a hit.
Taking kids on the bus downtown is a great reminder to enjoy the journey just as much as the destination.
We had a fantastic day at Cherry Hill with the Ford's. All the boys enjoyed the water slides this year. Even Ezra went down the dragon slide a couple of times. Though he didn't have much of a say in the matter.
We got there as it opened and didn't leave until we were kicked out. Smiles never ended!
It's fun to have big kids, where we can do big kid things!
Lincoln continued to help with the kids over the summer. Reading stories was a great way to entertain and pass time with this group.
This smiley, kid, was a pristine example of a perfect baby in August as he learned to sit and play with toys, eat anything offered to him, and melt my heart with his smiles.
We went to This is the Place again, and Thomas got a "shave". I was told it will last him the for 15 years.
On another trip downtown to see Dean's new office, we happened upon the Tour de Utah. It was incredible to see the athletes up close!
Beyond that white wall is the Salt Lake. It was a very smokey summer! But those bikers still road like it was a clear day!
While we were downtown we went to the church office building and to one of the family history museums. This is where I'm from.
On the last day to get prizes for the Summer Reading Challenge through the library, we filled out some forms to earn one last toy. Oliver wrote a little about himself. I'd say he's all ready for kindergarten...Thank you Upstart!
Grandpa would be so proud! These kids built this tower grandpa style without any help, or coaxing to build strait up.
Once Ezra is down, he rolls just about anywhere! This is where I found him after he was lost for a couple of minutes.
We had a roaring birthday party and Grandma Poll's house with all of the Poll cousins. Pin the tail on the donkey was a big hit!
These days, it's more fun to share a birthday week with my!
I took the boys and Kharit to Denny's on my birthday hoping to get a free breakfast. Turns out, you need to order the right breakfast for it to be free. But we did get a free visit, from this guy who showed the boys what alligators can do to you.
Aunt Jod hooked us up this year with plenty of opportunity to cool off.
We had a fun impromptu dinner with the Davis'.
We had to fit in more fun before school started...because that's what summer is-right?
Another great camping trip to Washington Lake in the Uintas. Camping and boys and mountains=a very happy mama!
Lincoln thought he should get a turn in the backpack...lucky 7 year old.
He took his fair share of walking too. We did some new trails, and made it up to Wall Lake, to watch some cliff jumpers.
Our campsite came complete with a riding tree!
What could be better than a campfire and s'mores?
Thomas knows how to be such a responsible big brother!
We had a great time playing in Provo Falls! It was cold, but Oliver lead the way, and all the boys were completely wet before we left.
Summer finally ended, and reality has now begun. Both boys were giddy about starting school. Lincoln did a great job at getting Oliver excited to start school, and ride their bikes together.
We came along for the ride for the first week, then the boys were ready to be let free on their own.
Judy gave me 2 tickets to the play "My Son Pinocchio" I took Thomas along, and he, well, didn't like it one bit. But he loved intermission playing in the water!
His first "Go Utes" game was a huge success!

My mom shared her tickets with me and Ezra and Thomas while Dean took the older two boys by his seats.
Gearing up for school!
We had another weekend to get out of the house while Dean worked on the kitchen. We joined Amy and kids at Timpanogis campground up Provo Canyon. With the exception of Ezra awake and screaming for 2 hours in the night, it was an awesome overnighter!
Playing hide and seek was fun, until Oliver found a hiding place that nobody could find.
It was a long, steep hike, but they did it for a cookie!
The kids got along great, and good memories were made!
