July started out with a bang! These boys worked hard at lemonade stands for a couple of weeks to earn money to blow up. I took them to Evanston to find some good deals on the big fireworks. I don't know that there is such thing as a good deal on fireworks, but they were all smiles and spent the next 72 hours sorting the goods for the big firework show on the night of the 4th. It was pretty amazing!
The anticipation was almost as fun as setting them off.

We went on a fun, short hike up Little Cottonwood Canyon with the Blackhursts. Hiking with friends always makes hiking a little easier.
Lincoln was thrilled with the worms he found.
Let the show begin! We had several neighbors and friends from up north join in on the fun. We BBQ'd some burgers and then let the boys go all out with their firework show. HAPPY BOYS tonight!
We broke tradition this year with our 4th of July morning. We have traditionally stuck in our neighborhood to be in that parade, but this year we headed to South Salt Lake to be the recipients of the parade, and man, did we get some candy!!!
It wasn't a float parade, but definitely a candy parade!
Before the parade, we all participated in the "Fun Run" that was just over a mile. Some had more fun than others! Lincoln took 3rd, Thomas took 5th and the rest of us pulled up the caboose.
We spent a Saturday at Splash Summit. We decided to fight the crowds so Dean could join us at the water park. He treated the boys to a dole whip...spoiled kiddos.
Then we went to the Old Fashioned Spaghetti Factory with a gift card from a nice neighbor. Ezra was so enjoying his dessert!
I LOVE THESE LADIES. These are some of my bestest friends from high school. We don't get together much, but when we do, it's like we don't miss a beat. Reece, Allyson, Mikel, Me, Chelsea and Dez at Pine View Dam. Just like the good 'ol days.
This time, our kids came along.
It's been fun to watch Thomas play soccer over the last couple of years. He's a competitor, and always plays hard.
This was one of their favorites, the birds would sit on their hands, and heads. These boys have never sat so still for so long.
For our anniversary, Dean and I went on a bike ride. We rode the Mormon Pioneer Trail and at least one of us had a great time. We got a late start and only made it half way.
This is Thomas' little team. They are all easy to cheer for!
This was my first effort to get the boys hiking to train for Timpanogos. It was an epic fail. We went up to Brighton one evening, and there were sooo many mosquitoes, it was not fun for anyone. So we hiked about a forth of a mile, headed down the canyon and got some ice cream instead.
We brought Lincoln along to get to the top of the Mormon Pioneer trail a few days later with more light and we all made it to the top!
This is a classic Ezra move. When I asked him to put away the stool, he asked for a picture of the armadillo first.
More Get Out Pass fun in Ogden with the Birds. We took a shot at the driving range. We all enjoyed it at different levels.
While we were in Ogden, I stopped by to see our old neighbor. It was always "Bev and Phil" our favorites. Phil passed away earlier in the summer, so I got to see Bev. She's a good friend!
Get Out Pass fun at a little kids jungle gym, I just didn't tell my kids it was for littles, and they managed to enjoy themselves.
Another fun game, that I would never pay for, was RC hockey. They liked it enough to do for free:-)
And a stop by Scheels for the Ferris Wheel, and some photo ops.
Sand box fun. I love it when this thing gets used!
And more trampoline parks. We have legit gotten our money's worth on this pass.
The Polls camped at Bear Lake again this year. It was perfect like it always is.
And the ice cream was delicious!

Ezra is being a Jedi. One of my favorite things is to catch this kid in his imaginary world. He plays like nobody is watching, and often nobody is.
Jodi is all tuckered out. Rightfully so, Bear Lake is exhausting!
This is a picture I took while mountain biking with Lincoln's team. By the time my camera was out, they were all clear down the trail, but it was beautiful just the same.
We went to a really fun swimming pool in Sandy. There were not many people there, and the boys were having so much fun off the high dive. I was shocked to see Oliver try a front flip off of the high dive. He ended up doing one half too many rotations and hit his back really hard. He was so tough though.
And this is Oliver testing for advancement in Tae Kwan Do. He is loving this activity and it's been really good for him to have his own thing he can excel at!
My three oldest boys had the opportunity to ride on our stake float for the 24th of July parade. It is by far the biggest parade in Utah, and they were stoked to do it. By the end they were tired, but I was glad they did it, and I think they were too. Anything for some bragging rights.
At the end, they were beat!

This summer the boys watched a lot of Star Wars. Sticks have brought on a whole new meaning around here.
I took my good friend Jess on a bike ride. I was excited to introduce her to mountain biking, but the trail I found was ridiculous. She was very forgiving and we ended up enjoying ourselves, even though we had a long ride in the sand.
Lincoln and Thomas both had soccer tournaments in Park City. We had a couple of hours to kill, so I got talked into a driving range.

And finally, after a couple of months without a trampoline, the boys used their garage sale money to get this one! We all missed having a trampoline.
