After a very busy Christmas Eve, I was anxious to stay at home on Christmas. The boys slept in on Christmas morning, and Lincoln was the first up after 8:00. He had a hard time waiting for Oliver to get up and join in the fun.
The first toy was one of the favorites! Here's why. Dean often takes the boys to Maverick for treats. And of course, they always ask for the shinning, spinning piece of junk toy that cost $8. Well, Santa had always remembered that, and he delivered! They were entertained for some time before getting to other gifts.
Santa also brought sleds this year. He must have known snow was coming.
Thomas was an angel baby all day. He just sat back and watched the boys all morning. played with his candy cane for hours. Everything we did, this kid was a sheer delight. Merry Christmas to Mama!
Most of the gifts were for all of both of the boys. They would open, and play, and open and play.
Dean got some new ski goggles. The boys helped pick them out and they were very anxious to try them on.
With plenty of toys still to open. There was already so much to keep them busy!
By lunch time, almost all of the gifts were unwrapped. Once again Santa has delivered. And once again, I looked at all the "stuff" and felt like it was overkill.
And now, time to start assembling all of the toys. A great thing for boys to do on Christmas morning!
In the afternoon, we headed over to the church to use the big space and try out the new remote control car.
Time to snuggle with the new blankets from Gram Graham and get ready to sleep off the sweets, sugar and Christmas fun!
It wasn't until the day after Christmas in the evening that we finally talked Oliver into opening his last gift. It was his "big" gift and everyone but Oliver was anxious t see what was inside. Oliver had a good strategy, as there was plenty of "new" to play with. Now he could really focus on the train.
Thomas is still trying to get the hang of this "sitting" stuff.
On New Year's Eve we had a fun night with Troy, Marissa and their kids! We had a real party, with dinner, treats, games, glow sticks, noise makers, dancing, hide and seek etc.! Kids were down by 9:00 and we got to stay and play games until the clock struck 12:00.
Have I ever mentioned that I love having boys?
A new tradition. 1 year in a row. Sleeping under the Christmas Tree on the first day of the new year. Lincoln is somewhere under his new blanket.
