Field Trip time! We have a new system in an effort to learn respect and "earn" rewards. If the boys (Lincoln) have good behavior for one week, we get to go on an adventure. We usually go on Thursdays. The first week of February we went to "scales and tales". The boys got to see all kinds of reptiles. It is interesting to see their different personalities. Oliver with no fear to see and touch the animals, and Lincoln who has lots of questions and likes to look through the glass.
This was a giant snake. Notice who is quite apprehensive..
Lincoln is so good at observing. He noticed this guy had his mouth open for most of our stay. Turns out, there's a reason. Easier to catch it's prey.
Oliver liked to touch, and squeeze this snake.
Here is 9 month old Thomas. This is one of his healthy days this year. I can tell, because he is smiling. Thomas cut his first two teeth! Just over 9 months old.
Thomas' teeth came in the same day we had a visit to the dentist. The boys did so great. Lincoln volunteered to be first. Oliver sat nervously watching. As soon as he heard all of the flavors of tooth paste he was very excited. When it was his turn he anxiously jumped onto the chair after Lincoln announcing he wanted "Grape" toothpaste.
Lincoln was a good sport and did the best he could. He needed quite a few breaks while he got his teeth cleaned, but he braved through it.
The boys were so good at the 2 hour dentist appointment and errands after they got to have a chick-fil-a picnic with ice cream on our living room floor.
On President's Day, Dean had some work to get done on the basement. So my job was to get the boys out of the house. We started the morning at Saver's and got the boys some clothes. Then we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon in search for some snow to play in. I tried strapping Thomas to me, but I couldn't balance, or play. So he got stuck in the stroller by the van. He didn't like it a whole lot.
The boys had a lot of fun playing on this hill. They made snow angels, and slid down on their bellies, and had jumping contests. The fun lasted about 20 minutes. It was 20 minutes more than Thomas wanted which worked out because we had more on our agenda. We hit the 7-11 for hot dogs and hot chocolate stopped by a Grizzlies game. We stayed long enough to see the zambonie and for me to feed Thomas. Then we picked up Judy and took her to the airport. It was a fun filled day with my boys.
Dean took a day off and Holly watched the boys while we went to Powder Mountain. The snow wasn't great, but the day was beautiful!
February didn't get as many pictures as we have all been working hard to be healthy. The day after we went skiing, Dean came down with an awful cold/flu. He is on day 4 of being sick in bed. The beginning of February
I got my annual sore throat. After 4 days, I was expecting it to start getting better, but each night it kept me up, and I could feel it getting worse. Dean took a day off work to be with the boys while I slept the day away. I lost my voice, and my patience. After 6 days, my mom called me on the phone, and then took me to insta-care, They sent me to the ER to have infection drained out of my throat. After a couple of days of anti-biotics and some smoothies, I was back on my feet, eating, sleeping and well again.
Poor Thomas hasn't stopped coughing since the beginning of January. Some days are harder than others. He had a small "procedure" scheduled at Primary Children's Hospital on Friday, but got a fever and more coughing, so they didn't want to put him under. Poor kid, can't get better. When I called the Dr. he told us to hold tight until Spring. So, we're all doing our best!
